Danika`s 4th Birthday

Yesterday was Danika`s 4th Birthday! I can hardly believe that she is already four years old. She is growing up way too fast.

I decided for the sake of my sanity, and the fact that I am pregnant, not to do a kids party but just a family party. A little less stress and a lot less work for me.

Saturday night we went over to my brother-in-law and sister-in-law's house for the family birthday party for both Rob and my niece Nicole.

We tried to wrap Dawson up as a gift but he kept opening and closing the box.

Is it just me or is it a sad day when your little ones start shortening Mommy and Daddy to Mom and Dad.

Dawson tends to just call me Mom, but I think it's just that he likes to yell it and it's easier than yelling Mommy. Danika though has always called me Mommy with the occasional Momma or Mom thrown in. Lately though, the percentage of Mom has increased substantially.

Also, she has always, and I mean ALWAYS called Dave Daddy. That too has been changing to just Dad.

The best abbreviation though is what she calls her brother. His full name is Dawson Josef John, which we did on purpose thinking we might shorten it to DJ eventually, but it doesn't suit him. Danika called him Dawsey for along time, but I think it was more to rhyme with Mommy and Daddy. Now she just calls him Daws.

Not sure if I like this turn, but it is definately better than Dawsey.

Happy Valentine's Day

David and I don't do much for Valentine's Day, mainly because we have so much going on in the month of February with birthdays. Today was no different for us, we wished one another a Happy Valentine's and sealed it with a kiss.

While Dave was at work and Dawson was napping, Danika did make a card for her Daddy. She wrote I LOVE YOU DADDY on the front and signed her name inside. The only stickers she wanted to put on it were hearts, lots and lots of hearts so Daddy knew how much she loves him.

I really hope that she made his day, she made mine just knowing how much she does love him.
